This policy explains how Grow Host (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use growhost.co.za or buy our services, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible for your information

Grow Host is the responsible party. Our Information Officer is Lerato Ndhlovu, who you can reach at support@growhost.co.za.

What we collect

• Order and account details: your name, email address, phone number, business name, domain name and anything you tell us in an order or contact form.
• Billing details: what you need to be invoiced and the record of your payments. We don’t store card numbers on this website.
• Domain registration details: domain registries require the registrant’s name and contact details.
• Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
• Website usage: cookies and similar technologies from tools such as Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel tell us how visitors use the site and how our adverts perform.

Why we use it

• To process your order, set up and run your hosting, email and domains, and send invoices.
• To give you support and tell you about things that affect your service (such as renewals or maintenance).
• To send you news and offers, only if you’ve subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To improve our website and measure our marketing.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.

Who we share it with

We only share what’s needed with: our infrastructure and hosting providers; domain registries and registrars (to register your domain); payment and banking providers; and analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Meta). We never sell your personal information. Some of these providers may process information outside South Africa; where they do, we rely on providers that are bound to protect it to a standard POPIA accepts.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you’re a customer and afterwards for as long as the law requires (for example, financial records for tax purposes), then delete or anonymise it.

Cookies

Cookies help the site work and let us measure traffic and adverts. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to direct marketing, or withdraw consent. Email support@growhost.co.za and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.

Security

We use SSL encryption, access controls and reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we’ll tell you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects you, as POPIA requires.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
